The Gault & Millau Slovenia online event has revealed the top-rated restaurants and the recipients of the Gault & Millau Slovenia Awards for 2022. We are delighted that this year’s Gault & Millau Traditional Cuisine Chef is our Chef Uroš Gorjanc.

Gostilna Krištof and Uroš Gorjanc would like to thank Gault & Millau Slovenia for the title of Traditonal Cuisine Chef 2022.
At the time of the announcment, it was said: “Traditional Cuisine Chef, Uroš Gorjanc is writing a story with a vision that emphasises organic food production, traceability and sustainability. He is committed to creating dishes that are thoughtful to the last detail, using local ingredients of the highest quality. Uroš Gorjanc is constantly driven by a creative and imaginative spirit. Every visit is a new culinary experience of tradition in the spirit of modern times.

Also in 2021, we found ourselves in the company of the best Slovenian restaurants which were included in the Michelin guide Slovenia 2021.

We received the Michelin Green Star and the Michelin Plate.

We are very proud on both awards we have received.

The Michelin Green Star is entended to support and encourgae sustainable practices in the culinary world, Michelin awards the Michelin Green Star highlighting chefs committed to commendable environmental practices. It is only awarded to those whose restaurants are listed in one of the categories included in the Michelin Guide. The green star celebrates their courage and ingenuity reflected in the sustainable practices that they use in their everyday work, their collaboration with environmentally-conscious suppliers and their waste management. The L’assiette Michelin or Michelin Plate recognises restaurants that serve carefully prepared meals made from fresh ingredients in a homely atmosphere. The food is simply good in 39 Slovenian restaurants.

Michelin has arrived in Slovenia. The stars and awards for Slovenia were announced on Tuesday 16th June 2020 at a special event at Ljubljana Castle. One of the specially invited guests was also our Chef Uroš Gorjanc.

We are honoured to be among top Slovene restaurants and to receive Michelin Sustainability Award and The Plate Michelin as well.

Six restaurants were noted for sustainability. The award reflects concern for environmental protection and resourcefulness at everyday sustainability practices.

The Plate Michelin, a designation for fresh ingredients and carefully prepared meals, went to 37 restaurants.

We are participating in Restaurant Week, or Teden Restavracij in Slovene, which returns to Slovenia this automn where Restaurants across the country are participating in the largest nationwide culinary event. On November 20, 2018 the French restaurant guide Gault & Millau, one of the most influential in the world, released the first Slovenian edition. On page 55 there can also be found Restaurant Gostilna Krištof. We won 15.5 points, three (3) chef’s hats. This is a good indicator of our work so far and it brings new vigour to our work in the future.

In Grand Hotel Union in Ljubljana, where the Gault & Millau Gala celebration was held, we were invited to introduce ourselves among the 20 best Slovenian restaurants. We prepared Vodomec Trout Tartar with Corn Brulee, Beetroot fermented noodles and Passion Fruit Gel.

The 2019 guide features 130 restaurants, 50 wine cellars, 50 POP places and 15 craft breweries.
